If Doctor Strange could weave one of those 'out of body' spells on Thor 4 he would have actually split it into 2 decent films.

On one hand you had the creepy villain (an excellent Christian Bale) and a heartfelt look at what it means to make the most of your leftover time when you are terminally ill. This would have humanised Thor as never before.

On the other hand you had a hugely ridiculous rock and roll space opera comedy that turned Ragnarok up to 11. This would have ended with Thor fighting Maximus and Roy Kent as the last boss.

What we got was both films smashed together and it didn't really work on any level apart from the Guardians of the Galaxy trying to ditch him at the start.
