If I shoved my phone in the face of the person opposite me on the tube and showed them a video every time they turned the page of a newspaper I would quickly find myself with a broken nose. How anyone could think this was a successful business model I will never know.

Video ads should stick to video platforms. Advertisers should innovate more with text-based content. The aforementioned newspapers have carried adverts for centuries so its not like its a new model.

The biggest ad hurdle for Twitter is the popularity of 3rd party platforms that block ads and do not pay Twitter any money. No-one seems to be talking about this but how much of a future do Twitterriffic, Fenix, Tweetdeck, Hootsuite etc have as apps?
