If I still worked in tech sales I would nearly always encourage customers to buy external storage: it’s cheaper and safer to hide all your Pro Res on than native. You can partition it easily for Time Machine but also hook it straight up to the latest iPhone for straight video capture. (I’m assuming anyone needing more than 2Tb of instant access on a laptop is hoarding video because you’d probably have a multi-monitor desktop for Unreal Engine 5)
