If you share this scenario with colleagues, how much have you communicated back to head office?
For example are you expected to be at a desk 9-5 or do management trust you based on work done not hours spent? Can you, for example get up at 5am to go through emails before 7:30am, take an hour to spend with your kids before school, work during the school hours (whilst multitasking the laundry!) and then switch off until bedtime and then mop up in the evening?
A playdate with a colleague would allow the kids to keep each other busy whilst you have a 'meeting'. It might also be worth checking if their friends' parents also WFH so you can take each others' kids off your hands so they're not bored by themselves.
