IK’m not entirely sure the ’Apple Car’ is what we expect. Its no secret Apple pumps billions into R&D every year and it remains highly likely that the car people have seen driving around loads with sensors is just another R&D project designed to field-test technologies that will eventually trickle down into its main product line. Think things like LiDAR (which Android manufacturers have suspiciously made no attempt to copy) or AR directions overlaying a video feed.

I’d thoroughly recommend reading The One Device b y Brian Merchant which details the centuries worth of technology and engineering that resulted in the original iPhone. This started out as a multitouch interface over a projected UI on a tabletop. Had people seen the articles would have been saying that the ‘Apple Table’ is very real and Ikea should be worried!
