I’ll admit I was expecting a cross between No Man’s Sky and Destiny. What I got was neither but also something much better.
NMS I found fun for one whole star system. As soon as I warped to the next one and realised the gameplay loop is constant mining it quickly lost its lustre. There wasn’t really much impetus to settle nor did I really want to explore.
Destiny is a fine shooter that is bogged down by mistaking lore for actual plot and despite the wonderful soft reboot of Destiny 2 has once again collapsed under its own needlessly complicated mechanics.
Starfield, from what I have played is a brilliant RPG with an actual chance to roleplay rather than just buff your stats and find a better gun.
