I’m a big fan of Apple and use their products every day but Reachability deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the Magic Mouse charging port and the exploding Note 7 batteries as the disaster it is.

Phones got bigger but the OS didn’t. Reachability is a fudge. Apple and Google have both had over a decade to redesign their respective OS for the dominant large display paradigm the market has adopted. There should be no interactions that take place outside the bottom half of the screen so the entire phone can be used one handed.

Instead of leading the way on software development they patched in reachability on the iPhone 6 and called it a day. It’s not good enough.
