I’m not sure I would even term Apple’s device as spatial computing. I believe that the future of AR lies in other devices collecting the data and the glasses doing the parsing, like a web browser does with data from a server or what I would call ‘pull’ computing.

Apple’s device is a little bit (very clever) smoke and mirrors in that it immerses the user in a 1:1 realtime recreation of their surroundings to achieve its goals, in many ways being more like tradition VR than it realises. By utilising Apple’s locked App paradigm it ‘pushed’ data outwards.
