In the post-post-apocalyptic video game Horizon Zero Dawn the protagonist (in the year 3039) discovers an AI buried in a bunker designed to regulate the Yellowstone Caldera. Powered by the near-infinite energy provided by geothermals, CYAN as it is known was designed with a functional lifespan of 4000 years.

It increasingly makes sense to position AI servers within colder climates with ‘infinite’ energy. It may well be that Iceland becomes another lynchpin in the global tech chain, much like TSMC and Trumpf where AI can run off geothermal energy but use artic ice to cool the servers.
