Is there any new feature in recent years that has been such an indictment for what currently ails Apple than the camera button?
Conceived with good intentions, the product designers seem to have done no anthropometric research at all when it comes to the location. Too low down for portraits, it needed to be at least 20mm closer to the base of the phone to be useful in Landscape.
Just look at how this person is holding the phone in the image. Its completely un-ergonomic with only one hand gripping the handset. Most of us hold our phones in landscape as a mirror of the images' left hand, coincidentally the same location Sony have had their phone shutter button for years.
Apple could have used this as an opportunity to subtely force landscape photos on their users an in turn reclaim video and photography from the portrait-oriented hell we find outselves in. Instead they've tried to serve both crowds and pleased nobody.
