It may be that we are looking in the wrong places. True, Apple is most definitely top dog in the ‘wrist computer’ catagory and unlike the phone space they have not been resting on their laurels but genuinely innovating.

But anecdotal evidence would suggest that they have a long way to go before they can challenge Garmin in the ‘adventure watch’ stakes. I don’t have one myself but recent reviews from the likes of Alex Gear and Tech and Mark Ellis have shown its months-long battery life and detailed stats are a difficult area to compete in.
