It sounds like she wants to turn America into…. Europe?

The USA remains a country of immense inequality, where the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. Because the US Church lost its way and went from helping the less fortunate to demonising them (and in turn killed off classical conservatism) the state has had to pick up the bill.

The EU has much higher tax rates than the USA but then it also has a much denser societal safety net through unemployment benefit and socialist healthcare. Consequently it also has some of the happiest, contented people on the planet.

The American dream of pulling yourself up by your bootstraps only works if the system isn’t rigged against you. Those boarded up shops and homeless camps are due to greedy landlords, not government policy.
