It sucked being an adult in the 1990's but then again it sucks being an adult in pretty much every decade. Are things really that different in 2022 than 1992? 1972? 1932? To iterate: I agree with your article and all the things you mentioned were terrible happenings and it is a tragedy it is still happening. If I was of the greatest generation I'd be screaming at my grandkids that we already did all this once and not to fall for it again.

One thing I loved about The Expanse (another terrific space saga) was how humanity had colonised the solar system but the same endemic problems of political upheaval, dangerous scientific frontiers, racism, class and technology were still there. I'm not saying I like those problems (oh to live in the Federation) but they made the series more relatable.

As a teenager in the 1990's though? It was great! I mean school sucked (because its school) but pop culture, TV, music, movies, PlayStation, Nintendo, Pokemon? Brilliant!
