It was never hot air but you were right in your original review: The M2 Air is fast enough for the vast majority of people buying that machine knowing they are sacrificing the power of the MBPro in exchange for portability.

Is it slower when the speedometer peaks? Yes. Does it matter though? No. My old Min Cooper has a slower top speed than my neighbours' Tesla. Does it matter driving it around narrow city streets? Not one bit.
