It would be easier if we even had any ownership of our data. If, rather than relying on big corporations to hold it all we operated our own websites and took on the inherent costs it would be easy to charge companies to scrape our data if we wanted.

But whilst it lives on someone else’s server controlled by someone else’s EULA we are sitting ducks.
