It's a shame to see such a great publisher fall from grace. But they've made some bone-headed decisions of late, including chasing NFT games which nobody has ever been interested in.
They tried to take on Fortnite and Call of Duty, akin to releasing a football title in 2002 to go against FIFA and PES. Star Wars: Outlaws should have had a character creator and let us live out our Han Solo fantasies by porting over the ship combat from Starlink. And despite somehow making bank at the box office, Avatar has no cultural cache at all.
They could have bankrolled a new Rayman Legends title and filled in a gap in the large but undersold 'co-op with your kids' genre for a hundredth of what they spent on all that and probably made more money. Mirage could have been a much-needed remake of the first Assassin's Creed.
Shadows may well be the last roll of the dice. The repeated delays shows that they care and are willing to poach the bugs before launch. I for one cannot wait to play it. Yosuke is the first historically accurate protagonist the series has ever had!
