Its highly likely that it was an incubator for other technology. Apple may have been looking at autonomous driving as a way of exploring how machine learning can adapt to a flood of data. I'm still not sold on the idea that they were ever considering building an actual car though.

It just looked extremely suss that they folded the Titan team a month after Vision Pro hit the market!
