Its more that armchair atheists who cherry pick scripture to prove their points are no worse than the fundmentalists they oppose.

I doubt for example that many of them have attempted to perform their own investigation into context, perhaps by attending church as an adult to at least come to the conclusion things are not for them or reading into the historicity of it all. Its not like they are short of content to examine.
