It’s nice to see Apple finally giving its Pro devices a bit of maturity and using focal length descriptions like Sony does instead of the 3x or whatever.

But still no manual camera settings! There may be a faster way but if you quickly want to lock the device to the, say macro mode you have to focus on something like the back of your hand, press and hold the screen to lock the focus and then shoot whatever you want.

Maybe apps like Halide offer this but these are subscription based and who in their right mind wants to pay a sub for manual camera modes? Samsung have had them for ages. Google are offering them on the Pixel 8 (check the Android blogs for some insane AI photography stuff Google are bringing in this year) so really Apple have no excuse.

And Final Cut on the iPad Pro has manual focus too!
