Its not that any of them were ever bad; its just there are a lot of people out there with, say 2018 iPad Pro's maybe looking for some cool new feature to make them upgrade and all Apple did was up the stats (and the prices). All of the models are brilliant, they're just not very exciting.

Most of your tech youtubers get it hilariously wrong because they only ever compare things to last years' models assuming their audience upgrades every year. In reality people buy a new phone when their contract upgrade is due (normally 3 years) and maybe change their computers every 5+ years.

Oh and if you're going to buy the G10 iPad don't waste your money on the official Apple Pencil. You can get a 3rd party one from Amazon for about $40 that charges via USB-C and they are just as good.
