Its probably worse over 60. You get to a point when all your close friends and even your partner might not even be around anymore and your kids all have lives of their own. Its why so many pubs have old men just sat around sipping a pint; they don't know how to talk to one another. I'm sure they'd love to get a deck of cards out, throw some darts or even play chess.
