I’ve always been driven by software rather than hardware so rather than describing the Mac as my first brush with Apple products I will instead gush about my favourite version of MacOS: 10.4 Tiger.

Whilst at Uni I got a job selling consumer electronics at John Lewis and after being a Windows user for years I was introduced to the iMac by a colleague and I never looked back. It might have been the slick animations and the operating speed that started it but I’ve dug into Unix and Terminal as much since then and realised the beauty was not just skin deep.

My first Mac was the original white 2006 MacBook. I’d be lying if I said the higher quality output from Apple’s creative apps didn’t help me get a higher level degree. That machine was in service for over a decade before being recycled.
