I've every sympathy for internet communities that have been killed by billion-dollar companies. Reddit however is just a way somebody found to monetise forums.

If the communities therein really wanted to protest anything and we're as close knit as they think they'll all chip in for some server space and set up their own phpbb forum. It really is that easy and it works because our gaming community did exactly this some years back when the publisher shut down our forum.

Web 1.0 still exists. Build it and they will come.
