Like any brand it depends on what you want or need. In the case of Apple you can buy a secondhand machine that will do the job. I still use a 2012 Macbook Air and whilst the battery might be shot everything else is still pretty quick for my needs.

A refurb iPhone 11 or XR is still a great phone with up-to-date software support. The $300 iPad still offers 99% of the same experience as the $800 Pro line.
