On topic, we used to have a phrase at the church I attended at college: evangelism is a dance, not a war. This was an English church; their version of evangelism was a much more restrained, secular approach to the one we see in American media.

I'm not trying to turn this into a debate about religion. The point they were making was don't treat things as some sort of violent battleground but rather like you're asking someone to dance at a social event.

Denier is the wrong word to use in this situation. It belittles people who might not even understand the science behind it all. Most people are just trying to get through life and put food on the table for their families.

But perhaps it is also not extreme enough. Unlike religion which requires faith in something existing outside of space and time, the visual evidence for there being at least something a little bit wrong with the planet is all around us.

A better word might be Climate Change Apprentice, somebody who is aware of it happening (at this point 100% of the adult population with access to the news) but lack the knowledge to do something about it or pester those in authority to act.
