Most of the rumours seem believable but the idea of a waist-mounted battery pack seems so inelegant and un-Apple that I don't buy it.

For a good example of what to expect I think we have to look at the incoming PSVR2 headset that hits the market in a few short weeks: A direct USB-C connection to an existing M-series box that provides a desk-mounted or free-standing custom app and infinite desktop experience.

If a company like Sony (who literally have a department that just thinks up crazy stuff) can't solve the portability conundrum for an acceptable price then Apple have no chance.
