My own image of God is somewhere between a scientist and a programmer. I wonder sometimes if God put the laws of nature (effectively procedural generation algorithms) into the ever churning chaos of the universe just to see what popped up. When the universe generated humanity from the chaos they became curious; when it turned out humanity was chaotic themselves they set about trying to provide order for them.
