One could argue that there was just as much hate and bile in Web1, it was just safely confined to closed groups on forums.

Web2 gave those people a public forum and, conditioned by the news media to believe opinion over fact people lapped it up.

The version of Web3 being pushed at the minute will only exacerbate everything wrong with Web2.
