Sometimes great ideas are just too far ahead of their time.

Take the Palm Pre and its webOS operating system. This launched in 2009 and was so full of ideas iOS and Android are only now finishing picking its carcass clean.

Windows Phone 7/8 was another great OS that made iOS and Android at the time look archaic. But adopting features of those systems weakened it until it lost its charm.

Sometimes the dominant products are always the best :(
