Technologies like Blockchains have advantages but the core tenets of Web3 are largely wasted when for many people the internet is just a network backdrop that powers their favourite apps and services: Netflix, Uber, Tiktok, Xbox Live etc.

Take away the idea of the internet as some sort of hangout and not only does Web3 fall apart but it also reveals that people don't mind big companies providing a centralised service.

Decentralise a service like Spotify and we're back with Napster.
