The G10 iPad is a victom of Apple's obsession with using its lower-priced products to push the more expensive ones but criticism of the model itself falls apart when you can add a 3rd party USB-C Pencil and a quality keyboard case for less than $100 from Amazon.

The starting price is a little hard to swallow however when the $300 G9 was an absolute steal at that price range. It is capable of about 300% more than any competing Windows or Chrome device at that price and for 99% of tasks as good as the Pro line.

The uphill battle Google face is the software ecosystem. The $300 G9 is capable of CAD, Movie Editing, Music production and playing a line of console-quality games. Google can't compete on app selection and therefore have to undercut on price instead. The Nexus 7 was a good example of where Google should be aiming.
