The Infinite Universe theory explains away Dark Matter and the Big Bang by positing that the universe is both perpetual and even more unimaginably vast than we think. This solves the missing matter issue (we cannot see it; its too far away) and moves things away from the creation idea to one of the death of stars and their slow rebirth via nebulae collecting around gravitic singularities.

We as humans assume everything is linear because we are so but this may not be so.
