The iPad Pro is a special usage case because once you start pricing accessories it quickly enters M1 MacBook Air territory and as you say, 9 times out of 10 you'd be better with the laptop.

But at the £300 and £600 price points I think an iPad is a way better purchase than the equivalent Windows or Chrome device for the average user.
