The reason gamers flamed the whole idea of NFT's in videogames isn't because they're NFT's: its because they are yet another micro-transaction layer to buy on top of the skins, DLC, entry price and your actual hardweare of choice to play things on.

Its not that gamers are cheapskates. Retro games regularly go for ridiculous prices between collectors and the PS5 has been the fasting selling console ever despite its high price. Nobody chastises Nintendo for its DLC add-ons because they are normally stacked with value.

What gamers do see however is how the idea of micro-transactions have merged themselves with games design itself into the predatory titles you see flooding the mobile space where titles become play-to-win. The reaction to Diablo Immortal says it all.

Cyber Crew won't be the new Nintendo because their NFT assets are reflective of this pay-to-win ideology, where the best players are not the most skilled but the richest. At this point players migrate somewhere else and the game and its assets dies.

You make those assets transferable and you will see another market crash as every title becomes a playground for the rich and all the fun is drained out.
