The way I see it the USA is a foreign country that is allowed to develop its own language, spellings and idioms. ‘English’ as a root dialect is spoken all over the world but only The King’s English is spoken here in England.

If I’m being honest there’s about 200 different localised versions of it here anyway. This is a country that cannot come to consensus on the correct name for a bread roll!

The good people of the United States should be free to spell and pronounce things however they like.

Apart from Solder.

Which is pronounced as it is spelt. I can’t forgive that one.
