There are not enough claps on medium for how right this article is. Mention the Daywalker and I will geek out with the best of them. Not just the first of the modern superhero blockbusters but still one of (if not the) best around.

I found it interesting how they moved from the urban legend, city life moments of the first movie to the downright gothic horror of the second. Blade even had a coat with a red lining echoing the classic vampire cape.

Things start to become murky with the third movie. Viewed as a continuation of Blade’s adventures I think it’s awful with most of the horror times down to achieve a what were they thinking PG13 certificate. But taken in the aftermath of Deadpool and seen as a Nightstalkers movie that just happens to have a cameo from Blade and it’s…. watchable. In 2003 we were wondering if there was anything more to Ryan Reynolds than Van Wilder; now we want more of it.
