These are all great points. I do wonder if Apple will mothball the Mac Pro given the benchmarks for the Ultra are actually faster? It will probably depend on what Pixar want for their next rendering lab.

Better hardware is always a given but I think it’s time Apple put some thought into software. There are still so many iOS interactions that use the top third of the screen that Apple must assume we have the thumbs of ET.

IPadOS needs to double down on whether it wants to copy OSX or Windows 11 for its window management and redesign its notification system. The widget dashboard is dead weight; why not put them there? And let’s get some pro apps out there: Logic and Final Cut are obvious choices but CC is starting to get ridiculous, something that could be remedied by Apple relaunching Aperture.

WatchOS still has a lot of wasted interactions as well. The App Library is difficult to use and manage and when was the last time anyone used the dock?

MacOS? It’s difficult to take a desktop OS anywhere these days as there aren’t many user requirements with regards to functionality. I guess a tabbed Finder as well as a year of stability wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Do you have any thoughts on software, Mark?
