This is a great article!

One thing I always note about the computers in Star Trek are that they are custom-made for their assigned role and the interface does not change. Maybe modern computers should take note; AutoCAD would run a lot better on my work PC if it wasn't also running dozens of background processes and an entire OS I don't need. At the very least I should be able to 'boot-to-app'.

The modern Star Trek (Discovery etc) however is not the future of UX. Transparent displays are a UX nightmare from their complete lack of privacy to colours not showing against an IRL backdrop. They only exist for filmmaking purposes so the audience can see the face of the person as they are working.

I'd be interested to see how future AR tech mimics Geordie's glasses though!
