This is where the centralised server model will reach its limit. The reason these companies need more data to feed their LLM's is to keep the investment rolling in. If there was a cutoff to seed money tomorrow, OpenAI would be bust in a week.

But LLMs are alrerady incredibly useful! Now they need to figure out a way of shrinking them so that they can run locally on your machine at home, work or in your pocket. To make people trust AI, it needs to be local, personal and well ours.
