Too many shows mistake lore for plot. It didn’t matter why the Silo was there as much as why the characters were making the decisions they did. Thankfully this was answered on a fairly brisk weekly basis.

The best thing about a TV show based on a book is if you are desperate for answers, Wikipedia is only a click away. Spoil the ending and then your anticipation becomes seeing how they get there.

The journey in most fiction is all that matters. Its why we re-experience our favourite fiction again and again. We know Luke Skywalker will become a Jedi, that Scott Pilgrim will eventually get the girl and that Aloy will discover her origins; we just want to see them go through their trials along the way.
