Top Gun: Maverick has sadly been a blip in an otherwise dull summer schedule (I mean if someone was looking forward to League of Superpets, then fair enough...)
After a 2 decades of democratization the cinema is returning to its place as a treat rather than the default. Luxury chains like The Light and Curzon (I don't know the US equivalent) will shine with their comfy recliners and oodles of leg-room.
Film-making may evolve too. Rather than the stack-em-and-sell-em output of the PG13 we might see a return of the 18/R-rated movies as the default as the people with any disposable income are adults without kids rather than bored teenagers.
