Until Apple release an iPhone that unintentionally explodes when charged up I’d say they’re in safe waters. The inevitable backlash is normally from three types of people:
1. The FAndroids who call those who ‘mindlessly’ buy Apple products iSheep but lack the self awareness to realise that because they’ve never used an Apple device they’re really no better themselves. This goes both ways though: spend any time on the Macrumors forums and you’ll see what I mean!
2. The August upgraders trying to convince themselves the new model isn’t all that to combat buyers remorse.
3. People insecure enough to be jealous of the product. This last one can be down to a lack of funds to buy into the Apple ecosystem and it’s nothing to be ashamed about. The £300 phone market is bursting with great handsets from Google and Nothing. You might argue that Apple’s marketing has done too good-a job at convincing people there is something wrong with a phone that costs less than £800 by still flogging the iPhone 6. I would actually make a strong arguement that the £300 Pixel 6a is in fact the most anyone ever really needs to spend on a phone.
