We are finally starting to see through the veil at how to Tim Cook's Apple, their supply chain streamlining is more important than their customers.

In this case those single 256gb SSDs take up half the storage and transportation costs than double that in 128gbs. Apple would rather the base level suffer a performance bottleneck at the high end (that few customers might ever see?) and save a few bob and get an upsell. Its just business.

I however am at the opposite end of the spectrum. I wish they'd release a new 11" Macbook Air. I know I can (and do) use an iPad Pro at this size but I'd like the choice of MacOS on a Mac.
