We unfortunately still live in a male-dominant society where women are viewed worldwide as the primary child caregivers. This has created an imbalance in terms of parental leave available, where men get close to nothing.
Whilst these roles are rooted in our tribal ancestors way of living, we live in a world where gender stereotypes are outdated. There needs to be more state legislation to allow flexibility in parental leave, allowing fathers to stay at home more and women to return to work if that is the choice of the family.
