What we have to remember is that the general public (ie the majority of paying customers) are either wary or don't give two hoots about AI beyond photo editing. And anyone in the industry that cares about illustration, photography or graphic design will want the human touch.
Siri has been useless for years.... or has it? Apple have had years to update Siri and have had the bottomless pockets to do it: why haven't they ever bothered? Their terabytes of user data will be telling them that very few people use a voice assistant for anything other than probably playing music and setting reminders. Why spend money improving something nobody uses?
Apple Intelligence is about not being seen as behind with the times rather than improving the user experience. If AI was a big selling point the best selling handset of 2023 would have been the Pixel 8.
