What will demolish much of the UX workplace is the mass adoption of AR.

This technology will revolutionise our cities as every surface, billboard, window and display becomes a personalised UI for the citizen.

Rather than a software backend like we have now that underpins everything, AR devices will interact with objects via IOT sensors and UWB technology. These chips will almost act like digital barcodes which are then decoded by the AR device itself. Dedicated apps become superfluous.

You would think software design would be at the forefront of future endeavours but UX design isn't the design of a thing (ie Product Design) but a process. In the current market this process can be anything from washing your clothes to queueing at the post office.

UX process designers will be the rockstars of this era as process design starts to allow the bleeding of software into the IRL interactive space.
