When you consider that advertising powers YouTube (from commercials to sponsors) and that pop ups have existed on console dashboards since the Xbox 360 it’s not actually that’s far fetched to have them power a TV.

It will all depend on the terms though: does the device freeze itself every hour whilst an ad plays on the bottom? Are the bottom ads just static or animated (very distracting)?

I actually wonder how difficult it would be to cover up the bottom display with, say a strip of wood painted black and then just use the TV as a dumb display for your PS5 or AppleTV, circumventing the model entirely?
