Where Windows always fell apart for me was the ‘prosumer’ market. There still isn’t an x64 app that compares to GarageBand for example, and this gap was a lot bigger during the Mac vs PC advert era where it was clear that Macs were a lot better for creatives.

But there are still also a lot of industry-standard professional applications that are not available on Windows. Autodesk Revit for example is a hugely popular program in the worlds of Architecture and Construction that still doesn’t have a Mac port.

Gaming is probably still the biggest gap though. Apple silicon can undoubtedly pull off modern classics and can probably do a better job than we think. But the market just doesn’t seem to be there.
